Privacy Policy
Day Sky AI (“Day Sky AI,” “we,” “us”) operates DaySky, a Personal AI OS application for iOS (the “App”) and the website at daysky.ai. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, the limited circumstances in which we share it, and the rights you have over it under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and other applicable laws.
By using DaySky you confirm that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or website.
1. Information We Collect
a. Health and fitness data (Apple Health)
With your explicit permission, the App reads health metrics from Apple HealthKit, including sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), step count, and workouts. Apple HealthKit data is read on your device and synchronized to our backend so your daily plan can use it. You can revoke this access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › DaySky.
b. Location
With your permission, the App uses your device’s GPS coordinates to fetch local weather and to provide region-specific recommendations. We use coarse coordinates only and do not build movement profiles. You can revoke location access in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services.
c. Google Calendar
If you connect your Google Calendar, the App reads upcoming events on a read-only basis to incorporate them into your daily plan. We never write, modify, or delete calendar entries. You can disconnect your calendar at any time from inside the App or by revoking access in your Google Account.
d. Voice input
When you speak to the in-App voice AI coach, audio is processed locally on your device and converted to text. We do not store your audio recordings. Only the resulting transcript is sent to our chat service so the assistant can respond.
e. Chat messages
Messages you send to the assistant — and the assistant’s replies — are stored so you have a continuous conversation history across sessions. You can clear your chat history at any time from inside the App.
f. Push notification tokens
When you enable notifications, Apple issues an anonymous device token to deliver push messages. We store this token to send you alerts (e.g., daily plan ready, workout reminders).
g. Email (waitlist)
If you sign up for the waitlist on daysky.ai, we collect your email address solely to notify you about beta access and product launch. We do not sell or rent your email address.
2. How We Use Information
- Generate your personalized daily plan, workout recommendations, and nutrition guidance.
- Power the AI chat and voice assistant.
- Sync trip itineraries, schedules, and reminders.
- Send transactional and product notifications you have opted into.
- Diagnose technical issues and improve product reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data to train third-party AI models, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not serve advertising inside the App or on the website.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
Health metrics, chat history, plans, trips, and account data are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Backups are encrypted and access is restricted to authorized engineering personnel.
4. Third-Party Services
DaySky relies on a small number of trusted service providers to deliver core functionality. Each provider receives only the data needed for its specific role.
- OpenAI — processes the text of your chat messages to generate AI responses. Per OpenAI’s API policy, your inputs are not used to train their models.
- Apple HealthKit — provides health metrics on-device with your explicit consent.
- Google Calendar API — provides read-only access to your calendar events when you choose to connect it.
- Railway — hosts our backend services and database.
- Formspree — handles waitlist email submissions from daysky.ai.
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We do not sell or rent your data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as you use the App. Chat history persists until you clear it from inside the App or delete your account. Health metrics older than 90 days are automatically pruned from our backend. Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information (“right to erasure” / “right to delete”).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — though, as noted, DaySky does not sell or share your data for advertising.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@daysky.ai from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.
7. International Data Transfers
Our infrastructure is located in the United States. If you access DaySky from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection rules than your country. Where required by law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, scoped database credentials, and access logging. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and applicable regulators in accordance with law.
9. Children’s Privacy
DaySky is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice through the App or by email. Continued use of DaySky after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
